Fuel Pump Timer Electrical System
Fuel Pump Timer Electrical Schematic
(1) Circuit breaker (15 amp). (2) Burner fuel pump switch. (3) Burner timer relay. (4) Fuel pump relay. (5) Fuel pump motor. The burner system fuel pump is controlled independently of the glow plug and blower circuits. The burner fuel pump electrical system consists of a 15 amp circuit breaker (1), fuel pump switch (2), burner timer relay (3), fuel pump relay (4), and fuel pump motor (5). The burner system is equipped with burner timer (3) to turn the screed fuel pump motor off after 15 minutes of operation. The burner timer is located in the screed right main control box.
Main Control Box (Right Side)
(2) Burner fuel pump switch.
Make sure the fuel control valves are closed after preheating the screed. Failure to close valves may allow diesel fuel to accumulate in the screed. Diesel fuel and vapors may cause fire or explosion resulting in personal injury or death.
Burner fuel pump switch (2) is a three-position toggle switch that controls the burner fuel pump mounted on the tractor. Power to the burner fuel pump switch comes from the tractor. When the burner fuel pump switch is in the TIME position, power is sent to burner timer relay (3) which is also located inside right main control box. From burner timer relay (3), power is sent to the fuel pump relay (4). From the fuel pump relay, power is sent to the fuel pump motor. When the burner timer reaches the 15 minute setting, the contacts open and the relay de-energizes.When the burner fuel pump switch is in the OFF position, the burner fuel pump is de-energized and the transfer of fuel is stopped.
Fuel Control Valves (Right Side Rear of Screed)
(6) Fuel control valves. (7) Fuel spray down quick connect (covered).
Make sure all four fuel control valves are closed before moving the burner fuel pump switch to the SPRAY DOWN position.
When the burner fuel pump switch is in the SPRAY DOWN position, power is sent to the tractor fuel pump relay. The burner fuel pump will remain operating, sending fuel to the two spray down quick disconnects (7) located between the fuel control valves (6). The fuel control valves on both sides of the screed must be closed while in the SPRAY DOWN mode to prevent fuel from accumulating in the burner system.Feeder Controls
Standard Feeder Controls
Feeder Electrical Schematic (Left Side)
(1) Circuit breaker (15 Amp). (2) MPC-10 control. (3) Conveyor ratio dial. (4) Mix height dial. (5) Proportional hydraulic valve. (6) Screed remote feeder switch. (7) Screed main feeder switch. (8) Left paddle sensor. The electrical controls on the screed control two functions of the tractor feeder systems. The mix height dial (4) on the screed electrically adjusts the sensitivity of the paddle sensor gain system, controlling the amount of asphalt in front of the screed. The screed has a feeder switch (6) providing automatic or manual control of the feeders. Switches on the tractor operator console (not shown) place conveyors and augers under
