"There is a Malfunction in the Operation of the Vibratory System"
"The Vibratory System is in Operation with the Switches in the OFF Position"
"The Vibratory Hydraulic System Does Not Contain Any Hydraulic Pressure"
"The Vibratory Hydraulic System Does Not Have Any Oil Flow"
"The Hydraulic Oil Pressure Fluctuates"Problems and Probable Causes
There is a Large Amount of Air in the System
Probable Cause
There is a leak in the supply oil line from the hydraulic tank to the pump.
The connection at the machine quick disconnects on the rear of the machine are not secure.
There is a leak in the return line from the screed to the cooler bypass valve.
The hydraulic filter is clogged.
The return bypass valve is faulty.
The connections at the vibratory control valve are not secure.
There was a failure to purge correctly a hydraulic system after assembly, maintenance, inspection, or testing.
There was a use of the wrong hydraulic oil that does not meet required specifications. The Vibratory Pump Has Excessive Noise
Probable Cause
If all the pumps on the machine are noisy, there may be air in the oil (oil aeration). Refer to "There is a Large Amount of Air in the System" for a possible solution.
The vibratory pump is cavitating.
There is air in the hydraulic oil or supply lines.
If the noise is found to be only the vibratory pump, pump wear or damage to the pump is the probable cause. The vibratory pump has been damaged.
The hydraulic oil is not at the correct operating temperature. The Hydraulic Oil is Overheating
Probable Cause
The oil level in the hydraulic tank is too low.
The ambient temperature is too high.
The machine has too many relief valves in the OPEN position at the same time.
The hydraulic pressure is too low or the pressure is too high.
The return oil filter is clogged.
There is a faulty bypass valve in another system. The bypass valve for the vibratory system may be faulty.
The control valve for the vibratory system may be faulty.
There is a restriction of the flow of oil through the oil cooler or the cooler bypass valve.
There is a faulty motor in another system.
There are one or more vibratory motors on the vibratory system that are faulty.
There is a restriction in a hydraulic oil line.
There is an excessive load on one or more systems.
The wrong type of hydraulic oil was used.
The vibratory pump is damaged. There is a Malfunction in the Operation of the Vibratory System
Probable Cause
The vibratory switch on the main console is in OFF position.
The vibratory switches on the screed control boxes are in the OFF position.
The machine is stationary and the vibe function is inactive.
The control panel circuit breaker was tripped and needs to be reset.
The vibratory solenoid on the control valve is damaged or faulty.
The vibratory pump is damaged.
The relief valve cartridge is damaged.
There is a leak in the supply lines to the vibratory motors. The Vibratory System is in Operation with the Switches in the OFF Position
Probable Cause
