Weight: 21 pounds 9 kg.
Information:
Start By:a. remove bucket 1. Start the engine. With the stick fully extended, lower the boom onto tooling (A) as shown. Lower the stick to the ground, and stop the engine.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill plug only when the engine is stopped, and the fill plug is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
2. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system as follows: a. Shut off the engine, and put the hydraulic activation control lever in the "Lock" position.b. Move the control levers for the boom, bucket, stick and swing through their full travel strokes. This will relieve any pressure that may be present in the pilot system.c. Slowly loosen the air breather cap on the hydraulic oil tank to release the pressure.d. Tighten the air breather cap on the hydraulic oil tank.e. The pressure in the hydraulic system has now been released. Lines and components can now be removed.3. Disconnect hose (1) from each side of the stick. Put plugs in the ends of the hoses to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system. Tie the hoses back away from the stick. 4. Put a small wood block (4) in position under the stick cylinder as shown. Fasten a hoist to the stick cylinder. Put a small amount of lifting tension on the cylinder with the hoist. Remove pin assembly retaining bolt (3) and pin assembly (2) from the rod end of the cylinder. Lower the cylinder on to the wood block to prevent damage to the hydraulic tubes. Tie the rod in the stick cylinder back so it can not extend. Stick weights can range from approximately 614 kg (1354 lb) to 750 kg (1653 lb).5. Fasten a hoist to the stick as shown. Disconnect hose (5) from each side of the bucket cylinder. Put plugs in the ends of the hoses to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system. Tie the hoses back away from the stick. Remove pin assembly retaining bolt (6) and pin assembly (7) that hold the stick to the boom. Weight of pin (7) is 27 kg (60 lb). Remove the stick from the boom. The combined weight of the bucket cylinder and the stick is 816 kg (1800 lb). Some machines may be equipped with shims between the stick and boom at the stick-to-boom pin joint. For assembly purposes, put identification marks on the shims as to their location.6. Remove the shims (if so equipped) at the stick-to-boom pin joint. 7. Remove two seals (9) from the stick at the stick-to-boom pin joint. Using tooling (B), remove bearings (8) from the stick. 8. Remove two seals (10) from the stick at the stick-to-bucket pin joint. Using tooling (B), remove bearings (11) from the stick. The following steps are for installation of the stick.
Be sure the pin bores in the stick are clean and free of dirt prior to installation of
