A - Loctite 771 Anti-Seize Compound -
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
Turn the power disconnect switch to the OFF.

Open engine enclosure door (1).
Illustration 2 g03623901Note: Put orientation and location marks on all cable strap locations for installation purposes.
Disconnect temperature sensor (catalyst inlet) (2) and remove cable straps (3).

Remove bolts (4), plate (5), and filter (6).

Remove bolts (7) and plate (8).

Remove cable strap (9) and disconnect harness assembly (10). Remove temperature sensor (catalyst inlet) (2). Installation Procedure
Install temperature sensor (catalyst inlet) (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (A) to temperature sensor (catalyst inlet) (2). Tighten temperature sensor (catalyst inlet) (2) to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 3 lb ft).
