Remove Final Drives
START BY:a. remove axle 1. Remove two of the bolts that hold the final drive planet carrier to the wheel assembly. Install two 5/8"-11 NC guide bolts (1).2. Install tooling (A) and a hoist on the final drive planet carrier as shown.3. Remove the remainder of the bolts that fasten the final drive planet carrier to the wheel assembly.4. Install two 1/2"-13 NC forcing screws (3) in the final drive planet carrier. Remove final drive planet carrier (2) from the machine. The weight is 75 kg (165 lb.). 5. Remove spiral retaining ring (4) that fastens ring gear (5) to the hub assembly. Remove ring gear (5).Install Final Drives
1. Put ring gear (2) in position on the hub assembly, and install spiral retaining ring (1).2. Install the O-ring seal around the final drive planet carrier. Install O-ring seal (3) in the wheel hub assembly. Put clean oil on both seals. 3. Install two 5/8"-11 NC guide bolts (5) in the wheel assembly.4. Install tooling (A) and a hoist on final drive planet assembly (4), and install it in the wheel assembly. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb.ft.).
