The rotation of the thumb spans 103 degrees from full extension to full retraction. Once the object has been grabbed, the bucket forces can overpower the thumb forces until about 47 degrees. This position is similar to the position of a stiff link thumb that is placed at the extreme open position.When the thumb is retracted, the thumb folds close to the stick.
