Remove the fuel filter bowl (6) from the bottom of fuel filter element (4) .
Remove the seal (5) for the fuel filter bowl (6) from the bowl. Discard the seal (5) for the bowl (6) .Note: A new seal (5) for the fuel filter bowl (6) and a new fuel filter bowl (6) is included with the replacement fuel filter element (4). Use a new seal (5) for the fuel filter bowl (6) whenever a new fuel filter element (4) is installed.
Lubricate the new seal (5) for the fuel filter bowl (6) with clean oil. Install the new seal (5) for the fuel filter bowl (6) in the groove of fuel filter bowl (6) .
Thread the fuel filter bowl (6) onto the bottom of fuel filter element (4) .
In order to drain any contaminants from the fuel filter bowl (6), open the self-ventilated drain by turning the knob (8) counterclockwise.Tighten the fuel filter bowl (6) to the following torque. ... 15 N m (11 lb ft)
