Certain 3304 Generator Set engines may have been shipped without the appropriate engine Emissions Certification Label. Listed machines shipped outside North America do not require the Emission Label and are not affected.

Parts Needed
Dealers will not need to order parts for this Program. A replacement engine emission label for each affected machine is enclosed with the Owner Notification Letter and mailed to the owner (sample copy attached, for reference).
Action Required
No Dealer action is needed, unless Dealer is on record as the Owner of the machine. The Owner Notification Letter informs the Customer that the engine Emission Label may not have been installed on the valve cover of the engine of his Affected generator set s/n. Each Owner Notification Letter includes a replacement Emission Label, and requests the customer to apply it to the top of the valve cover of the engine on his Affected generator set.
In cases where Dealer is the machine owner (Dealer inventory, rental fleet, etc), Dealer will receive the Owner Notification Letter, and is expected to install the label. If unit has been sold, and Dealer receives the Owner Notification Letter, Dealer is expected to inform the Customer and forward the Owner Notification Letter and label for Customer to install.

Owner Notification
A copy of the Owner Notification letter that will include the emission label is attached.
Service Claim Allowances
No Parts, Labor, or other expenses are allowed. Replacement Emission Labels are included with the Owner Notification Letters, and are expected to be installed by the Owner at owner's convenience. This Service Letter is intended to provide a permanent record of Affected Machines for which Owner Notification Letters and replacement Labels were sent, and to inform Dealers.
