SHORT BLOCK 10R9377 - Caterpillar

1. Remove seat retaining ring (1) and pin (2). 2. Remove seat (3), bolt (4), washers (5), and spring (6).3. Remove the sleeve and bearing assembly from the cylinder and weight assemblies. 4. Remove retaining ring (7) from sleeve (8).5. Remove bearing (9) and races (10) from sleeve (8). 6. Remove valve (11) from piston (12).7. Remove the retaining ring (13) that holds the cylinder assembly to the weight assembly.8. Remove weight assembly (14).9. Remove the piston (12) and sleeve (15) from the cylinder (16).10. Remove the O-ring seal from sleeve (15). 11. Remove the speed limiter plug (17), gasket, spring (18), and plunger (19) from the governor housing.12. Remove the high idle screw (21) and low idle screw (20). 13. Remove the bolt (22) and lock that holds the lever assembly to the shaft assembly.14. Remove the shaft assembly (23) and lever assembly (24) from governor housing.15. Remove the lip-type seal, plug, and two bearings from the governor housing.Assemble Governor
1. Install the two bearings, plug, and lip-type seal in the governor housing. The seal must be installed with lip toward outside of the governor. 2. Put the lever assembly (1) and shaft assembly (2) into position in governor housing. Install the bolt (3) and lock.3. Install the high idle screw (4) and low idle screw (5) in governor housing. 4. Install the speed limiter plug (6), gasket (7), spring (8), and plunger (9) in housing. 5. Install the O-ring seal (10) on sleeve (11).6. Install piston (12) and sleeve (11) in the cylinder (13). 7. Put the weight assembly (14) into position on cylinder (13), and install the retaining ring (15). 8. Install the valve (16) in piston (12).9. Install the bearing and races in sleeve. Install the retaining ring.10. Install the sleeve and bearing assembly (17) on valve (16). 11. Put the seat (18), bolt (19), washers, and spring in position on the valve (16). Install the retaining pin (20) and ring (21).end by: a) connection of governor to fuel injection pump housingb) install fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unitc) make adjustments to rack and governor (See FUEL RACK SETTING and GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING.
