Power GenerationC175-16 GEN SET (S/N: WYB1-1988)EngineC175-16 (S/N: 3A91-136; M6A1-1020; Y3A1-136; M6B1-1010; WYC1-2009; P6L1-1114; P5P1-1002; KWT1-134; R1X1-113)Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF9197, Specifications for Connecting Rods in C175 Engines has been revised to provide and improved measurement procedure for the large end bore on C175 connecting rods.The previous measurement procedure provided guidance to assemble the connecting rod as described in the Disassembly and Assembly manual, which provides a torque procedure for assembling the rod with bearing shells installed. For measurement of the crank end bore of the connecting rod, bearing shells will not be installed, and the bolt torque required to close the rod to cap joint prior to the final turn of the bolt is lower than it would be with bearings in place.The newly published measurement procedure in the Reuse and Salvage Guideline lists the updated torque values for assembly of the rod and cap without the bearing. The improved measurement procedure should be used to evaluate all C175 Type II connecting rods for reuse.
