Install pressure plate (10). The bronze side of the pressure plate must be toward the gears and the machined notch (trap slot), toward the outlet side of the pump.

Start next to the outlet passage and install retainer (11), O-ring seal (12), back-up ring (13) and isolation plate (14).

Align the marks and install O-ring seal (16). Install plate (15).

Install eight O-ring seals (18) and O-ring seal (19) and coupling (17). Ensure the snap ring is located in coupling (17).

Install isolation plate (24). Locate isolation plate (24) next to the inlet passage with the radius on the isolation plate towards the bottom of the body.
Install back-up ring (23), O-ring seal (21) and retainer (22). The radius along the edge of the retainer must be towards the bottom of the body assembly. Note: Do not use force to install the pressure plates. Hold the plates as level as possible and slide them into position.
Install pressure plate (20). The bronze side of the pressure plate must be towards the gears and the machined notch (trap slot), toward the outlet side of the pump.

Use Tooling (A) to install lip seal (31). Install the seal with the lip of the seal towards the inside of the pump.
Use Tooling (B) to install ring (32).
Use Tooling (A) to install lip seal (33). Install seal (33) with the lip seal away from the pump. Lubricate lip seals (31) and (33) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Install O-ring seal (34).

Install eight nuts (37) and the washers. Tighten eight nuts (37) to a torque of 115 7 N m (85 5 lb ft). End By:
Install the steering, pilot and braking pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Steering, Pilot and Braking) - Install".
