Illustration 1 g00103198Initial Setup ProcedureNote: Ensure that the position of the dump body is down.Note: Use the 9U-7330 Multimeter with the 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe.
Insert the test leads into contact B and contact C. Connect the positive lead into contact C and connect the negative lead into contact B.
Loosen the bolt to the lever on the sensor shaft. Note: Ensure that the lever is resting on the stop of the dump body.
View the Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal of the multimeter as the shaft to the sensor is rotated. Rotate the shaft until the duty cycle that is shown on the multimeter is 20 percent duty cycle.
After a 20 percent duty cycle is achieved, tighten the bolt in order to lock the lever to the sensor shaft. Check the Body Position Sensor for Proper Operation.
Start the engine and raise the dump body.
Place the lever for the hoist control lever into the FLOAT position for a minimum of 12 seconds.
Watch the body up/tailgate down indicator as the hoist control lever is in the FLOAT position. The indicator will illuminate while the dump body is in the FLOAT position.
Raise the dump body and then lower the dump body. Ensure that the body up/tailgate down indicator is not on when the dump body is lowered. Note: If the Electronic Technician (ET) is connected, ensure that the measurement for the snub function is 4°. Also, ensure that the angle of the dump body is 0° when the dump body is down.Auto CalibrationThe body position sensor will calibrate automatically if the following conditions are met:
The sensor is between 10 percent and 30 percent duty cycle when the dump body is down.
The engine is running.
The hoist control lever is in the FLOAT position or in power down.
The above conditions are stable for a minimum of 12 seconds.Note: Once calibrated, the body position will display 0° on the ET and will increase as the dump body is raised.
