The change will allow the casedrain oil to be filtered by the return filter prior to entering the hydraulictank. Changing the routing will prevent contamination from entering thehydraulic tank and possible damage to other components of the machine.Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediatelyto schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time requiredto complete this service. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letterdated June 18, 2006 when scheduling this service. REWORK PROCEDURE
Rework procedure RM-350B case drain lines.The case drain lines for the rear propel motorsshould be routed to the return filter. Use the following illustrationsas reference.
The dealer should make the hoses required,reference the (HIS) Hydraulic Information System for the hose assemblyprocedure and parts required.1. Drain the hydraulic tank into a suitable container.2. Remove hose (1) from tee fitting on theside of the tank and install 6V-9832 cap onto the tee fitting.3. Remove hose (2) from the side of the tank,remove the 90-degree elbow from the tank and install 5P-9436 plug and 3D-2834O-ring into the fitting of the tank.4. Connect hose (1) to hose 290-0875 usingcoupling 6V-8733 and O-ring 6V-9746.5. Connect hose (2) to hose 290-0876 usingcoupling 6V-8733 and O-ring 6V-9746.6. Install 183-2569 Clamp, 7V-6234 Plate and5P-2955 Bolt in location shown. 7. Install tees and O-rings as illustratedbelow and connect the new hoses to the tee fittings.8. Fill the hydraulic system and test operationof the rear drive system.9. Recheck the hydraulic system after testing.
