B     -     Loctite271     -    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts must be cleaned thoroughly in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Refer to illustration 1. Verify that both of the number match. These parts are a matched set. Do not install the parts if the numbers do not match.

Install roll pins (1) directly into the pump drive plate. Do not install roll pins (1) into the aluminum inserts until the inserts are assembled onto the pump drive.

Attach Tooling (A) to flywheel (2) , as shown.

Use a suitable lifting device in order to install pump drive (3) onto Tooling (A) . The weight of pump drive (3) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).
Remove the suitable lifting device.
Slide pump drive (3) into position and install bolts (4) in a star pattern.
Remove Tooling (A) .

Install inserts (6) on the pump drive. Position nylon retainer (5) within the four inserts. Apply Tooling (B) onto threads of each bolt (7) . Hand tighten bolts (7) . Tighten bolts (7) , in a star pattern, to a torque of 465 25 N m (343 18 lb ft)

Install coupling hub (10) even with the end of the shaft on main hydraulic pump (11) . Install screws (8) and (9) . Tighten screws (8) and (9) evenly, to a torque of 210 10 N m (155 7 lb ft). Note: Upon installing new flexible coupling, per CPI 250881. Rotate coupling engagement to different spline to avoid fatigue accumulation at coupling fastening point on spline surface of shaft.Note: The large chamfer on the gear of coupling hub (10) faces the pump side and the small chamfer on the gear faces the flywheel side.
After coupling and main hyd pump has been assembled and tightened, check end play on engine crankshaft for proper clearance.
End By: Install main hydraulic pump (11) .
