ACTION REQUIRED
The affected differentials are in the axle serial number range from 1808041 to axle serial number 2022016.
Refer to REHS8267, Special Instruction, "Procedure to Rework Differential Shaft and Housing to Accommodate Longer Spring Pin on Certain M300D Series Wheeled Excavators", for information and details on the differential Rework Procedure.
Please note:
- Cross-check the the axle S/N's on the affected machines with the range of affected axle S/N's provided in REHS8267, Special Instruction.
- Include the axle S/N(s) of the reworked/repaired axle(s) in the comments field of the Service Letter claim.
For Group 1:
Rework both the front and rear axle.
Note: In the case that one axle fails, replacement of both axles is required.
For Group 2:
Rework only the front axle.
Note: The rear axle is either not affected or is reported as being already reworked.

An additional 10.0 hours will be allowed for an After Failure (front and rear) axle repair. To justify claiming resultant damage parts cost, pictures (showing the failed parts) must be attached to the claim.
