Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.
Move engine speed switch (3) into the LOW-IDLE position to operate the engine in low idle.
Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

Unhook latches (5) on each side of the engine compartment, and open engine hood (6).

Remove locking pin (7) from hood support bracket (8). Move the bracket to support engine hood (6). Install the locking pin to secure the hood support bracket.

Connect Tool (A2) to steering pressure tap (9).

Connect Tool (A2) to charge pressure tap (10).

Remove cotter pin (11) from the steering lock pin.
Move steering lock lever (12) to the locking position, and install cotter pin (11) in the steering lock lever.Test Procedure
Move engine start switch (4) into the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.
Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Move engine speed switch (3) to the HIGH-IDLE position to operate the engine in high idle.
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (B). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches the test temperature listed in the Specifications Section above.
Record the pressure at charge pressure tap (10) on Tool (A1).Note: The pressure should fall in the range listed in the Specifications Section above . If the pressure is outside the specified range, check the charge relief valve pressure. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve (Charge) - Test and Adjust".
Rotate the steering wheel.
Use Tool (A1) to record the pressure differential between steering pressure tap (9) and charge pressure tap (10). Refer to the Specifications Section for the steering differential pressures.
Release the steering wheel.
Move engine speed switch (3) into the LOW-IDLE position to operate the engine in low idle.
Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
Disconnect Tool (A2) from steering pressure tap (9).
Disconnect Tool (A2) from charge pressure tap (10).
Remove cotter pin (11) from the steering lock lever.
Move steering lock lever (12) to the storage position, and install cotter pin (11) in the steering lock lever.
Remove locking pin (7) from hood support bracket (8). Move the bracket into the storage position. Install the locking pin to secure the hood support bracket.
Close engine hood (6) and secure latches (5).Note: The steering relief valve is not adjustable. If the steering relief pressure is outside the specified range, check the flow of the steering gear pump. Refer toSystems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Gear Pump Flow (Steering) - Test". If
