Clean
1. Raise the hood. Engage the hood support latch.2. Loosen breather outlet hose clamp (1). Remove the hose from breather (2).3. Loosen bolt (3) on the top of the breather. Remove the breather.4. Check the condition of the cover seal. Replace the seal if damaged.5. Wash the breather in clean, nonflammable solvent. Dry the breather by shaking or using pressurized air.6. Install the breather on the engine. Secure the breather with bolt (3).7. Install hose and clamp. If the crankcase breather is not maintained on a regular basis, it can become plugged. A plugged breather will cause excessive crankcase pressure that may cause crankshaft seal leakage. Hydraulic System Breather
Clean
The hydraulic system breather is located on the right side of the tractor, above the front of the hydraulic pumps.1. Remove the breather.2. Wash the breather in clean, nonflammable solvent. Dry the breather by shaking or by using pressurized air.3. Install the breather. If the breather is not maintained on a regular basis, it can become plugged and build up excessive pressure in the transmission/differential hydraulic pump.
