(1) Install new 4N9766 Pinion Drive Gear (1), 6N2834 Washer (2) and 7S5757 Ring (3), then install the original 4N905 Gear (4). Backlash (free movement) for gear (1) is .001" (0.03) after assembly. Before installation of shaft (5) and (9), in the procedure that follows, put lubrication on the shafts and on the seal lips of the 2M2489 Seals.(2) Install 6N2838 Shaft (5) and use a 310215 Bolt to fasten 4N907 Lever (6) to shaft (5). Install 6N2836 Lever (7), 6N2835 Lever (8), 6N2839 Shaft (9) and 6N6926 Spring (10). Use 7J9018 Bolts to fasten levers (7) and (8) to shafts (5) and (9). (3) Install 1L5316 Pin (11) in hole (A), at the rear face of 6N2574 Cover (12), according to the dimension shown. (4) Use a 5B7040 Bolt (13) and a 4N1636 Gasket to install 6N2574 Cover (12). Put 6F5926 Nut (14) and 6N2833 Lock (15) on 6N2955 Switch (16). Install switch (16) loosely in the hole in cover (12).(5) Use a 7B2742 Bolt (17) and 2A762 Bolt (18) with 5P537 Washers and an 8S5388 Gasket, to install 3L5987 Cover (19), only if a shut-off solenoid is not used with the fuel system . Do not install 6N2837 Cover (20) with the 1H3943 Gasket until the rack setting is done. See FUEL RACK SETTING in this instruction.(6) Use the new 4N1104 Gasket and install the fuel transfer pump. Use two 8H3127 Bolts (21) and install 4N9767 Adapter (22).Installation Of Governor
(1) Use the 4N1868 Gasket and 2H5330 Bolts to install 6N1656 Drive Group (1) on the fuel injection pump housing. Use S1617 Bolts with 9M1974 Washers and a 2P8643 Gasket to install 4N5656 Cover (2). Turn shaft (3) counterclockwise to the shut-off position and install 1F9303 Lever (4) according to the dimension shown. Use a 2H3738 Bolt to fasten lever (4) to shaft (3).(2) Install 5K9235 Elbow (5), 5K9246 Connector (6) and 6N2832 Tube (7). (3) Install four 4L7547 Studs (8) in drive group (1). Tighten the studs to a torque of 10 3 lb.ft. (14 4). Install 6L2082 Coupling (9) on 4L9766 Pinion Drive Gear; install 6L3528 Gasket (10) and governor (11). Install and tighten 1D4716 Nuts (12).Fuel Rack Setting
(1) Linkage (1) must be disconnected from governor drive lever (2). Remove plug (3) from the fuel injection pump housing, and remove shutoff solenoid (4), if so equipped. (2) Install 5P9697 Timing Pin (5), tapered end out, in the hole for plug (3). Remove plug (6). (3) Install 9S8883 (.50") Contact Point on the 9S215 Dial Indicator. Install 3P1565 Collet Clamp in the hole for plug (6), then install 9S215 Dial Indicator (7). Remove cover (8) and the washer.(4) Move governor drive lever (2) in the FUEL ON direction (clockwise) until the fuel rack stops against timing pin (5). Hold lever (2) in this position, adjust indicator (7) to zero and tighten the nut (not too tight) on the collet clamp to hold the indicator at the zero position. Move the governor lever to
