3. Remove plug (5) and drain the coolant from the transmission oil cooler. Install plug (5).4. Remove the bolts, and disconnect tube assemblies (1) and (6) from the transmission oil cooler. Install caps in the tube assemblies to prevent transmission oil loss.5. Remove the nut, two washers and bolt (4) that holds the transmission oil cooler to the bracket.6. Attach a nylon strap and hoist to the transmission oil cooler, and remove four bolts (2) and transmission oil cooler (3). The weight of the transmission oil cooler is 20 Kg (45 lb).7. Remove the three remaining bolts and the bonnet from the transmission oil cooler.
Typical Example8. Clean the tubes of the transmission oil cooler with a 4.37 mm (.172 in) diameter rod (7) as shown. The following steps are for installation of the transmission oil cooler.9. Make sure all gasket surfaces are clean and free of dirt.10. Put the gasket and bonnet in position on the transmission oil cooler, and install three of the bolts that hold it.11. Use a nylon strap and hoist and put the gasket and transmission oil cooler (3) in position on the engine. Install four bolts (2) that hold it.12. Make sure the O-ring seals are in position, and connect tube assemblies (1) and (6) to the transmission oil cooler. Install the bolts that hold the tube assembly.13. Install the two washers, nut and bolt (4) that holds the transmission oil cooler to the bracket.14. Remove the caps from tube assemblies (1) and (6). Make sure the O-ring seals are in place on the tube assemblies and connect them to the transmission oil cooler. Install the bolts that hold the tube assemblies.15. Install the guard assembly on the left side of the engine.16. Fill the cooling system to the correct level with coolant. See the Maintenance Guide.
