EXCAVATOR, MINI HYD EXCAVATOR,
Information:
1 Open the access cover in the hood. 2 Turn the radiator cap slowly to relieve any pressure, then remove the cap. 3 Open the drain valve and drain the coolant. 4 Close the drain valve. Fill the system with a cleaning solution.Any commercial cooling system cleaner can be used, or mix 1 kg Sodium Bisulfate (NaHSO4) per 40 liters of water (2 lb per 10 gal).5 Start and run the engine for 1/2 hour. Stop the engine and drain the cleaning solution.6 Flush the system with clean water until the draining water is clean. Do not run the engine while flushing. 7 Close the drain valve. Fill the system with a neutralizing solution. Any commercial cooling system neutralizer can be used or mix 250 g of Sodium Carbonate Crystals (Na2CO3 10H2O) per 40 liters of water (1/2 lb per 10 gal).8 Start and run the engine for 10 minutes. Stop the engine and drain the neutralizing solution. 9 Flush the system with clean water until the draining water is clean. Do not run the engine while flushing. 10 Close the drain valve. Fill the system with clean water. Start and run the engine for five minutes. Stop the engine and drain the cooling system. Repeat this procedure, until the drained water is clean. 11 Mix the coolant solution to provide protection to the lowest expected outside temperature. Add 2 liters (2 quarts) of Caterpillar cooling system conditioner or equivalent. 12 Close the drain valve. Add the coolant slowly, 20 liters (5 U.S. gallons) per minute or less, to the proper level. See the "Refill Capacities" chart. Adding the coolant too fast will cause air pockets in the system. 13 Run the engine with the radiator cap off until the coolant level stalibilizes. If necessary, add more coolant until the level is within 1 cm (1/2 inch) of the bottom of the fill pipe. 14 Inspect the radiator cap gasket. Replace the gasket if it is damaged. 15 Inspect the pressure relief spring. Clean all debris from the pressure relief spring. 16 Install the radiator cap.Hydraulic System
Change Oil
Hot oil and components can cause injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin.
Machine must be level, parking brake applied, oil warm and engine stopped. 1 Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve the pressure. 2 Remove the remote tank drain plug. 3 Install a 1 inch NPT pipe nipple (Caterpillar Part Number 6B3156) to unseat the drain valve.
Install the drain pipe nipple only finger tight until the oil starts to drain. Do NOT force the pipe nipple into the valve. This will damage the drain valve and cause leakage.
4 Allow the oil to drain. Into a suitable container. Dispose of vaste products according to local requirements. Change the filter element, see the topic "Hydraulic System" under "Every 500 Service Hours or 3 Months". 5 Remove the fill screen.
When using pressure air, wear a protective face shield and protective clothing. The maximum air pressure at the nozzle
