(1) Main control valve (2) Stick cylinder (3) Pilot oil for shifting the stick spool to the STICK IN position (4) Stick control valve (5) Left pilot valve (joystick) (6) Pilot oil for shifting the stick spool to the STICK OUT position (7) Oil that is supplied to the main control valve (8) Pump (9) Pilot and travel speed manifold (10) Oil that is supplied to the pump by the hydraulic tankThe hydraulic system for the stick is controlled by the left pilot valve (joystick) in the standard position for the joystick and by the right pilot valve (joystick) in the alternate position for the joystick. The hydraulic control console must be activated in order for the pilot valves (joysticks) to function. When the left pilot valve (joystick) is moved FORWARD, the stick will move out. When the left pilot valve (joystick) is moved BACKWARD, the stick will move in. When the pilot valve (joystick) is moved BACKWARD, pilot oil (3) shifts the spool of the stick control valve (4). Oil is routed from the pump (8) to the main control valve (1). The pump receives oil from the hydraulic tank through the hydraulic line (10). The oil from the main pump flows through the stick control valve to the head end of the stick cylinder (2). This causes the cylinder rod to extend. The extending of the stick cylinder rod causes the stick to move to the STICK IN position.

When the pilot valve (joystick) is moved FORWARD, pilot oil (6) shifts the spool of the stick control valve (4) in the opposite direction. Oil is routed from the pump (8) to the main control valve (1). The pump receives oil from the hydraulic tank through the hydraulic line (10). The oil from the main pump flows through the stick control valve to the rod end of the stick cylinder (2). This causes the cylinder rod to retract.
