Remove the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, and on all hose assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - Refill" for the capacity of the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change" or Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change" for the proper draining procedure.

Disconnect hose assembly (6) .
Disconnect hose (5) .
Disconnect hose (2) .
Remove slides (7) .
Remove bolts (1) .
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to radiator tank (3). Remove radiator tank (3). The weight of radiator tank (3) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).Installation Procedure

Install bolts (1) .
Install slides (7) .
Connect hose (2) .Note: Ensure that hose (2) is not pinched during installation.
Connect hose (5) .
Connect hose assembly (6) .
Connect hoses (4) .
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System (ELC) Coolant - Change" for the correct procedure. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - Refill" for the capacity of the cooling system.End By: Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
