Remove shim (27) from shaft (25).

Remove rotating group (28) from pump housing (3). Carefully retain the rotating group (28) in pump housing (3). Turn the rotating group upside-down. Slowly lift pump housing (3) off rotating group (28).

Remove retaining plate (29) and pistons (30) from barrel (31). Remove retaining ball (32).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to compress spring (34) until retaining ring (33) can be removed from barrel (31). Slowly release the pressure on the suitable press. Remove spring (34), retaining disc (35), and pressure pins (36).

Remove plug (37) and the O-ring seal.

Remove piston (38) from pump housing (3).
Illustration 16 g00923991Note: The rod is engaged in the socket by the edges of the socket. Extreme care must be used to disengage the rod from the socket. Remove the actuator rod out of the smooth shaped socket.
Angle the swashplate (39) so rod (40) extends out of the bore. Remove rod (40) from the socket in swashplate (39).

Remove swashplate (39) from pump housing (3). Check the condition of socket (41).

Remove bearings (42).
Remove spring (43).

Lift shaft (25) out of pump housing (3). If necessary, press bearing cone (44) off shaft (25).

If necessary, remove bearing cup (44A) from pump housing (3).
Remove retaining ring (45) from pump housing (3).

Remove lip seal (46) from pump housing (3).
