Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Install timing pin in the camshaft.
Install timing pin in the crankshaft.

Put plate (16) in the position on camshaft drive gear (14). Install bolts (15).
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolt (18).
Use a suitable lifting device to install camshaft drive gear (14). The weight of camshaft drive gear (14) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb).
Install washer (17) and bolt (18). Tighten bolt (18) by hand.
Remove the crankshaft timing pin from the timing location.
Turn the flywheel backward about 20 degrees. Note: If the crankshaft is turned more than 20 degrees, interference between the pistons and valves may occur.
Turn the flywheel in the direction of the engine rotation until the crankshaft timing pin can be reinstalled in the crankshaft. This procedure holds the backlash in the timing gears in the direction of the normal engine rotation. Note: If you miss the location of the crankshaft timing pin, do not turn the flywheel. If you miss the location of the crankshaft timing pin, repeat Step 8 and Step 9.
In order to prevent the crankshaft from turning, engage the manual barring group. Tighten the locking guide to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb ft).
Remove the camshaft timing pin and the crankshaft timing pin.
Use Tooling (A) in order to tighten bolt (18) to a torque of 2000 275 N m (1480 203 lb ft).
Carefully hit bolt (18) with a rubber mallet. Repeat Step 11. Repeat this procedure until the torque does not change.
Loosen the locking guide on the manual barring group. Verify the relation between the crankshaft and the camshaft. This is done by installing the timing pins. If both of the timing pins cannot be installed, loosen bolt (18) and camshaft drive gear (14). Repeat the installation procedure for the camshaft drive gear (14).
Remove the crankshaft timing pin and the camshaft timing pin. Return the pins to the correct storage locations.

Install speed-timing wheel (13).
Rotate camshaft drive gear (14) until the letter (S) on the gear is horizontally aligned to the centerline for a standard rotation, respective letter (R) for a reverse rotation engine.
Assemble the speed-timing wheel (13) to camshaft drive gear (14) with the extra tooth on the speed-timing sensor (13) close to the primary sensor. Leave bolts (12) loose so the speed-timing wheel (13) can be rotated.
Rotate the speed-timing wheel (13) until the centerline of the first tooth after the extra tooth aligns with the centerline.
Tighten bolts (12).

Install camshaft covers (11) and bolts (10). Lubricate the seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install camshaft cover (9) and bolts (8).

Install bracket assembly (7) and clamp (6).
Install bolts (5), bolt (4), bolt (3), bolts (2), and bolt (1).
