Hydraulic system steering pilot oil filter.
The hydraulic system steering pilot oil filter is located beneath the cab platform. Open the access door that is directly behind the operator cab.
Loosen, and then remove, the hydraulic system steering pilot oil filter element housing by using a suitable wrench at the bottom of the filter housing. A strap type wrench may also be used to loosen the filter housing.
Properly dispose of the used oil filter element contained in the oil filter element housing.
Note how the oil seals at the top of the oil filter element housing are arranged. Remove the used oil seals from the groove at the top of the oil filter element housing and dispose of the used oil seals properly.
Wash the oil filter element housing in clean nonflammable solvent. Dry the housing thoroughly.
New oil seals for the oil filter element housing are supplied with the new oil filter element. Install the new oil seals in the groove at the top of the oil filter element housing in the proper arrangement. The proper arrangement of the oil seals was noted when performing step 6 above.
Clean the oil filter mounting base. Make sure that none of the material from the used oil seals remains inside the filter mounting base.
Place the new oil filter element in the oil filter element housing. Apply a thin coat of hydraulic oil to the new oil seals that were installed on the oil filter element housing.
Position the oil filter element housing on the oil filter base and begin to tighten the oil filter element housing by hand. Carefully continue to tighten the oil filter element housing with a wrench until rotation of the housing stops. Do not overtighten.
After rotation of the oil filter element housing has stopped when being tightened with a wrench, loosen the oil filter element housing 1/4 turn. Installation of the oil filter element housing is now complete.
Start the engine and run the engine at low idle. Inspect the hydraulic system for leaks.
Check the level of the hydraulic oil. Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level (Steering) (Brake) - Check" for
