The seal ring sticks out of the housing moreOne of the design improvements made to the seal was to change the ramp angle to reduce load variation caused by system gap changes. This leads to a slightly taller 2 to 3 mm (0.07874 to 0.11811 inch) seal height when installed and in the free non-compressed state.

The seal rings look twisted/uneven when compressed.If the seal stand-up heights are all within 1.0 mm (0.04 inch) of each other, the “twisted” appearance will reduce after a few rotations. The seal group needs to find equilibrium.
