The side panels should be positioned "side to side" so the top flange of the panel touches radiused plate (A). Radiused plate (A) is riveted to the inside front of the hood [radiused plate (A) closes the space between the side panel and the hood].
The side panels should also be positioned "fore and aft" so that the front flange of the side panels are in alignment with the front flange of the hood assembly and retainer for the radiator guard. Also, make sure that the side panels are fully seated on the bumper cones.
The 8Y-6353 Latch-Enclosure is a "flip-up and rotate style" latch. The 8Y-6353 Latch-Enclosure can be converted into an improved latch with a larger engagement pawl. Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS9975, "Installation of 136-2241 Latch Kit" for more information.
