The new pins (1), locking nuts (2) and bushings (3) are now used in order to allow smoother rotation of the scissor tailgate arrangement. The new pins are longer than the previous pins in order to ensure that there is the correct clearance between the arm of the tailgate and the mounting assembly. The new bushes have a slightly larger internal diameter, reducing friction and allowing smoother rotation of the arm. The new pins are now retained by locking nuts. Changes have been made to the design of mounting plate (4) in order to allow the full seating of the pin in the bore on assembly.In a separate change, plate (5) has been added to the inside of the body channel. The plate replaces the previous captive nuts in order to increase the stiffness of the mounting area. The plate also improves the retention of the mounting to the body channel.Adaptable To: The 192-9068 Pins (1), 6V-7676 Nuts, 192-9067 Bushings (3) and the changes to the 153-9307 Mounting Plate are effective with scissor tailgate arrangements on the D250E Series II (S/N: 4PS647-UP), D300E Series II (S/N: 5KS550-UP), D350E Series II (S/N: 2XW352-UP) and D400E Series II (S/N: 8PS854-UP). The new pins, nuts and bushings are adaptable to scissor tailgate arrangements on earlier machines.The addition of the plate to the inside of the body channel is effective with scissor tailgate arrangements on the D250E Series II (S/N: 4PS770-UP), D300E Series II (S/N: 5KS603-UP), D350E Series II (S/N: 2XW399-UP) and D400E Series II (S/N: 8PS827-UP).The new pins, nuts, bushings and mounting assemblies are a direct replacement for the previous components. In some instances, a shim is installed between the end of pin (1) and retaining washer (6). Shims that are found upon the removal of the old pin may be discarded. The shims are not necessary with the new longer pin.The following table contains details of changes to the part numbers for the new components. The parts that are not included still use the same part number.

Manufacture two plates to the following dimensions. Refer to Illustration2 and refer to Table 2. Use steel with a greater yield strength than 290 MPa (42000 psi).Note: Both plates must be installed at the same time.
