Cat Data Link circuitThis diagnostic code indicates the brake ECM has determined there is an abnormal update rate on the Cat Data Link. Reference Use the machine Electrical Schematic to determine the wires for the following tests.Test Step 1. VISUALLY INSPECT THE HARNESS
Turn off the keyswitch and the disconnect switch.
Inspect Cat Data Link harness for the following:
Inspect the connectors, pins, and sockets for the following:
Cleanliness
Security
Proper mating
Seal condition
Moisture
Corrosion
Inspect the wires at the connector for the following:
Security
Nicks
AbrasionNote: Take care not to pull the wire out of the connector.
Inspect the harness for the following:
Damage
Abrasion
KinksExpected Result:The harness is in good condition.Results:
OK - The harness is in good condition. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The harness is not in good condition.Repair: Repair or replace the harness. STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE CAT DATA LINK CIRCUIT
Check the Cat Data Link harness for opens and shorts.Expected Result:The harness is not open or shorted. Results:
OK - The harness is not open or shorted. An ECM may have failed.Repair: Exit this procedure.Perform this procedure again. If the failure is not found, contact your technical communicator. If ECM replacement is required, see Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".STOP
NOT OK - The harness is open or shorted.Repair: Repair or replace the harness. STOP
