Illustration 3 g03664680
Loosen band clamps (3), (6), and (8). Note: Mark the orientation of band clamp (5) prior to removal.
Disconnect and reposition nitrogen oxide sensor (4).
Remove exhaust elbow (5) and bellows (7). Installation Procedure
Note: If exhaust elbow (8) is going to be reused, refer to Special Instructions, REHS5014, "Reuse Guideline for the Flexible Exhaust Pipe Group on Tier 4 Engines".Note: Band clamps (7), (9), and (11) are one time use only.
Illustration 4 g03664732
Tooling (A) will be included with the new bellows assembly. Tooling (A) will be pre-installed on bellows (7).
Tooling (A) should not be removed until Step 11.
Insert exhaust elbow (5) into bellows (7). Exhaust elbow (5) should be inserted as far as possible without using force. The insertion will minimize the overall length of the bellows assembly and will help with the installation.
Illustration 5 g03664680
Attach band clamp (3) and exhaust elbow (5) to the after treatment inlet. Loosely tighten band clamp (3).
Align and attach bellows (7) and band clamp (8) to the turbo ball joint. Loosely tighten band clamp (8).
Illustration 6 g03664762
The slip joint at band clamp (6) should slide smoothly with an engagement of Dimension (X). Dimension (X) is equal to 50 10 mm (2.0 0.4 inch). The engagement will be verified when the ink line on exhaust elbow (5) is no longer visible.
Illustration 7 g03664783
Band clamps (8) and (3) at the ball joints are to be located equally between Dimension (Y), as indicated by the paint indicators or bump features.
Tighten band clamp (3) to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft) with a maximum wrench speed of 75 RPM.
Tighten band clamp (8) to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft) with a maximum wrench speed of 75 RPM.
Verify that the ink marks on the slip joint at band clamp (6) are not visible.
Remove Tooling (A).
Tighten band clamp (6) to a torque of 55 8 N m (41 6 lb ft) with a maximum wrench speed of 75 RPM.
Apply Tooling (A) to nitrogen oxide sensors (4). Install and tighten nitrogen oxide sensors (4) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
