The changes to the steering clutch control groups are in effect as shown in Chart B, and are adaptable to all earlier machines.
Use the following procedure to adjust the steering clutch when the new parts are installed.
Procedure To Adjust The Steering Clutch (New Pin And Piston)
1. At assembly, apply 5P960 Multipurpose Grease to both ends of the 5G5727 Pin (see Illustration 1).

Make sure there are no bent linkages.4. Loosen the 1F7958 Nut and turn the yoke stop bolt so dimension (B) is 8.00 mm (.315"). Tighten the 1F7958 Nut.5. Dimension (A) should be approximately 25.4 mm (1.00").6. With the outside footpedals against the stops, make adjustments to the length of the 5G4927 Rod (see Illustration 2) so there is a CLEARANCE of 0 to 0.75 mm (0 to .029") between the cam and the roller on the end of the valve group.7. Tighten the locknuts on the rod.
