53. Press flange (56) in its original position in the hub. Keep the flange level and true during installation.
If reamer bolts (55) are not tightened evenly, a small amount at a time, flange (56) will tilt resulting in seizure of the reamer bolts. Also, the seating face of each reamer bolt must be in face-to-face contact with the flange after they are tightened to the specified torque value.
54. Be sure reamer bolts (55) are thoroughly clean and dry. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the shank of each reamer bolt and 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads of each reamer bolt. Install the reamer bolts, and tighten evenly, a small amount at a time, until the seating face of each reamer bolt is in contact with the flange. Remove tool (D). Tighten the reamer bolts to a final torque valve of 375 37 N m (270 27 lb ft). Snap ring (54) is available in several thicknesses. See the Parts Manual. The thickness of snap ring (54) determines the amount of preload on the bearings on each crankshaft in gear assembly (61). The preload on the bearings should be 0 to 0.05 mm (0 to 0.002 in) tight.55.
