When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
Certain 331-5292 AM/FM Radio Groups in dealer parts stock may have software that does not work properly in some applications. The existing software can cause the radio to lose the channel preset capability under certain machine conditions. The radio cannot be flashed with a new software.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 331-5292 AM/FM Radio Gp in dealer parts stock to see what date code is marked on the label. The labels are on the shipping box and on top side of the radio. Refer to the circled date code on box label in Image 1 and the radio label in Image 2.
Inspect all 331-5292 AM/FM Radio Gp in dealer parts stock to confirm if they are were manufactured in the affected date range.
If the 331-5292 AM/FM Radio Gp is not manufactured in the date range of 01/01/2011 through 02/01/2013, return the radio group to the original packaging. Mark the package to indicate it has been inspected according to this program (PI7#####). Return the part to dealer parts stock.
If the 331-5292 AM/FM Radio Gp is manufactured in the date range of 01/01/2011 through 02/01/2013, remove the radio group from dealer parts stock.

NACD:
Hold all 331-5292 AM/FM Radio Gp for a Parts Return Request (PRR). A Parts Return Request (PRR) will be issued to you through the Send-It-Back process after the claim is submitted. Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork.
EAME, LACD, and APD:
Hold all 331-5292 AM/FM Radio Gp for 30 days for a possible Parts Return Request (PRR). Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork.
If a Parts Return Request (PRR) is not issued to you after 30 days through the Send-It-Back process, handle the parts in accordance with your warranty bulletin on warranty parts handling.
