Calibration Conditions
The chassis ECM must detect the following conditions before starting the calibration procedure:
The transmission oil temperature is above 65 °C (149 °F) and below 100 °C (212 °F).
The shift lever is in PARK.
The parking brakes are ENGAGED.
The retarding lever is in the OFF position.
The service brakes are RELEASED.
The engine speed is at low idle (approximately 700 rpm).
The transmission output speed (TOS) is 0 rpm.
There are no active clutch solenoid diagnostic codes.
There are no active transmission or torque converter speed sensor diagnostic codes.
There are no active transmission or torque converter temperature sensor diagnostic codes. If any of these conditions are not met during the calibration, the procedure is aborted and an error code is triggered. Procedure

Setup Conditions For Transmission Fill Calibration
Follow the instructions that are provided. Approximately 15 minutes are required in order to complete the fill calibration.Note: During calibration, engine speed will be set automatically. Calibration will abort and error codes will appear in the Cat ET display screen if any of the listed calibration conditions are not meet.
When finished, a dialog box will in Cat ET will show whether the calibration was a Success or was Not Successful.Cat ET Error Codes

Example of Cat ET Calibration Error CodesDuring transmission fill calibration, Cat ET error codes can appear if a problem occurs. These error codes will be displayed as pop-up dialog boxes over the calibration instruction in Cat ET.
Table 2
Cat ET Error Codes for the Transmission Fill Calibration
Error Code     Description     Possible Causes / Recommended Actions
0001     ECM fault     Problem with ECM. Check that the correct flash file is loaded into the ECM.
After the problem is resolved, retry the calibration.
0002     Active diagnostic present     Troubleshoot and repair any clutch solenoid active code.
After the problem is resolved, retry the calibration.
0006     Calibration aborted by tool     Technician stopped calibration or loss connection to Cat ET.
Ensure that a current version of Cat ET is used.
After the problem is resolved, retry the calibration.
0009     Calibration aborted by ECM     Check for another active error code that indicates the cause of the problem and resolve the problem. A communication problem between the Chassis and Engine ECM or between Cat ET and the Chassis ECM can also cause this error.
Retry the calibration and ensure that calibration instructions are followed. If this error reoccurs after many attempts upon the same clutch, then troubleshoot that ECPC valve.
000B     Calibration not supported
