Until the RAC events are under control, download the RAC data at least once a day. After the RAC events are under control, download the RAC data at least every three days. The minimum number of times the RAC data should be downloaded is at least once per preventive maintenance cycle. Sites that are equipped with wireless VIMS can download the RAC data more often with less effort.Event Interpretation
The average FELA values can be affected by many factors that are within the control of the truck operator. Usually, the Operation Management Department is responsible for haul road conditions. However, the operator can avoid adverse haul road section to minimize truck stress until haul road repairs are made.Operators must take appropriate action when RAC gives an event warning. Use the warning guidelines below:Category 1 Warnings

Table 2
MAX RACK/SEC HI
Table 3
MAX BIAS/SEC HI Note: The warning messages that are shown above do not contain instructions for the operator. The message is only an indication that a hot spot is developing on the haul road.Notify the appropriate personnel of the hot spots that are developing in the haul road. Avoid this spot on the next cycle. If you are unable to avoid the bad spot, reduce the ground speed of the truck by approximately 8 km/h (5 mph) in this area on subsequent haul cycles until the spot is repaired. Category 2 Warnings

MAX BIAS/SEC TOO HI
SLOWDOWN: AVOID AREA Notify appropriate personnel of severe haul road hot spots. Avoid these spots on the next cycle or reduce truck speed by approximately 15 km/h (10 mph) near these areas. Major machine components may feel excessive stress at these locations. Avoid these locations, when possible. Operators also benefit from less fatigue by avoiding these hot spots. The RAC warnings should be made into a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for the truck operators and the mine haul road maintenance crew. The KPIs allow the customer to establish a baseline in lowering the overall operating cost of the machine. Because the RAC events are displayed via the VIMS message center, the operator is now informed when the truck is exposed to excessive forces. The RAC module alerts operators to take corrective action until the haul road can be repaired.Benchmark Graph Interpretation
See the "Haul Road Management Bench Mark Graphs". These graphs provide a benchmark or reference for the management of the haul road. The graphs helps the RAC user better understand the relationship between the haul road condition and the intended design life cycle (machine life). These graphs are a tool that can help a user benchmark a site as compared to other sites that are located worldwide.
