Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all harness assemblies, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. Plugging the assemblies helps to prevent fluid loss, and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Main Hydraulic Pump
Remove cover (A) as shown. Discard the bolts and seal used for cover (A) .

Lightly lubricate o-ring seals and all bores and shafts with hydraulic fluid. Position drive group (2) and pump group (1) to the main hydraulic pump. Secure drive group (2) and pump group (1) to the main hydraulic pump as shown, using the bolts provided in drive group (2) .Note: Retaining ring (2e) fits in a groove inside of coupling (2b) .
Tighten all hardware and fittings to proper torque unless otherwise specified. Refer to Specifications, SENR3130, "Torque Specifications".

Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue, causing serious injury, and possible death.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.Do not check for pin hole leaks in pump or motor hoses during a steer stall condition. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated by a doctor familiar with this type of injury immediately.
Inspect for fluid leaks when the installation of the hydraulic kit is complete.
