To run VIMSpc the following computer hardware, operating system, and software are required. Computer Hardware:
IBM® PC compatible with Pentium IV 2.4 GHz processor or higher
2 GB RAM
2 GB of available hard disk drive
40X speed CD-ROM drive or 8X speed DVD drive
15.4 inch XGA Screen (1280x1024 compatible)
For VIMSTM 3G system: Ethernet port is required
For VIMS ABL and 68K systems: RS232 port with 16550AF UART (or compatible) or USB 1.1 or 2.0 port

VIMSpc software has combined the functionality of the Information System Builder and the VIMSpc software into one application. Note: VIMSpc is a software tool used across a broad range of Cat® products. Not all features available in VIMSpc are supported on Medium Wheel Loader Applications. This means that some fields or options will be unpopulated or will show a null value. The following information pertains to the features which are supported by Medium Wheel Loaders and are related to the Cat Production Measurement feature.Reference: Help Document within VIMSpc for more detailed informationApplication Window of VIMSpc
To use VIMSpc, follow these steps:
Connect VIMSpc.
Click on the "PC" option on the left side menu. Home Screen
The home screen in the VIMSpc status shows the following information about the machine:
"Software Part Number" The flash file currently installed in the ECM.
"Config-File Part Number" The configuration file currently installed in the ECM, if applicable.
"Hardware Part Number" The part number and revision level of the ECM.
"Model Code" The machine model, or "PL522" if a PL522 module is equipped.
"Product ID" The machine serial number.
"Equipment Number" The name the machine will appear as in VisionLink®. (VisionLink is a trademark of Trimble Navigation Limited, registered in the United States and in other countries).
"Date" The current date as reported by the ECM.
"Time" The current time as reported by the ECM.
"SMH" Current service meter hours of the machine.Cat Production Measurement Application
The Cat Production Measurement application screen is accessible through the PCS tab at the top of the VIMSpc Home Screen. The Cat Production Measurement application screen has the following three tabs:
Truck list
Material list

Target Weight (Displayed to Operator)There are 10 trucks by default, but up to 50 different trucks can be configured.

Truck List Screen
To Configure the Additional 40 Trucks click the Next button seen in Illustration Number 1. If a Truck needs to be removed:
Delete the information for the truck in the Truck List section of VIMSpc.
Press the "Apply" button at the bottom of the page. Pressing the "Reset to Default" button will restore the truck list to the default values. The defaults are:
The number of trucks in the list "10"
The truck names "Truck1-10"
The model type "CAT789"
The truck type "B"
The target weight "0.0"Material List
