Bracket (8) On Track-Type Tractor
Determine the placement of the antenna on the machine. On most machines, the roof is the proper location for the antenna. Fabricate a suitable bracket in order to mount the antenna for optimal performance. The antenna must have an unobstructed view of the entire sky. Drill a 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) hole through the bracket. The 953C installation is shown in illustration 10. Illustration 11 pictures an example of an antenna bracket on a Track-Type Tractor.

Route the cables for the antenna through the hole that is drilled in the bracket (8). Slide the following parts over the wires for the antenna: washer (11), nut (12) and heat shrink tubing (13). Slide the braided sheathing (9) over the wires for the antenna (10). Use the string in the braided sheathing and pull the wires for the antenna through the braided sheathing. The wires for the antenna (10) should extend 50.8 mm (2 inches) past the braided sheathing. Secure the end of the braided sheathing to the wires for the antenna (10) .

Tie-Strap For Securing The Braided Sheathing To The Wires For The Antenna
Before attaching the wires for the antenna to the Product Link module, install the wiring conduit. Secure the braided sheathing to the wires for the antenna with a tie-strap (19) .
Thread the wires for the antenna through the piece of wiring conduit (18) .
Slide the white gasket (17) over the end of the wiring conduit.
Thread the wires for the antenna through the shield body (15). Slide the gasket and shielding into the shield body and secure the parts with a clip (16) .
