Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
There are three filters in parallel, each with two valves. The system is designed to run with two filters in operation. The third filter is to facilitate changing filter elements while the engine is running. The differential pressure sensor across the filter bank triggers a warning when the delta exceeds 6 PSI.
Enable the third filter by opening the pair of valves associated with the filter.
Isolate one of the filters by closing the two valves associated with the filter.
Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component.
Use a suitable container to catch any fuel that might spill. Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.

Loosen the T-handle (1) and remove the cover (2).
Remove the old filter element (4). Hold the filter handle and pull the handle upward.
Do not fill the fuel filters with fuel before installing them. The fuel would not be filtered and could be contaminated. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.
Install the new filter element (4). Hold the filter handle and push the handle downward.
Replace the seal (3) for the cover with the one that is supplied with the new filter element. Apply a coating of clean fuel to the seal prior to assembly.
Replace the cover and tighten the T-handle.
Repeat as necessary.
Ensure that two filters are operating.
Inspect the fuel filter assembly for leaks.
