The lubricating oil sump pump is mounted on either side of the engine. The sump pump provides a convenient method of removing both the diesel engine crankcase lubricating oil and marine gear lubricating oil. To Use The Sump Pump: Remove the pipe plug (2) from top of the pump and connect a line or hose with 1/2 inch pipe nipple to the pump. Place the loose end of the line or hose so that it will drain into a suitable container.To pump the oil from the diesel engine crankcase, turn the selector valve (3) so that the indented mark (4) is toward the front of the engine and move the pump handle (1) backward and forward.To pump the oil from the marine gear case turn the indented mark toward the rear of the engine and move the handle backward and forward.
