Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.
Probable Causes
The oil is too cold.
A piston seal in a cylinder has excessive wear.
There is a leak between the control valve and the cylinder that has drifted.
The check valve for the load is not closing because of dirt or because of a worn seat.
The control valve is not centering correctly.

Note: Care must be taken in order to ensure that fluids are contained during inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. You must be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component that contains fluid. Leaks at fittings and other types of hydraulic line connections may cause loss of oil flow. Loss of oil flow may prevent components from attaining pressures that are necessary to perform work. Low hydraulic pressure will cause the implements to be weak. Low hydraulic pressure will also cause the implements to drift in the HOLD position. Check for leaks at all fittings and connections of hydraulic oil hoses, lines, and tubes in the system in question. Correct any problems that are found. Ensure that the machine is on a surface that is level.
Lower the blade all the way. Continue to lower the blade until the machine is raises off the ground.
Move the control handle for the implement to the HOLD position.
Shut off the engine. Watch the lift cylinder rods for movement.The Control Valve Is Not Centering Correctly

If the makeup valve is sticking and not operating freely, there can be a pause in movement at the ground when lowering the blade. If the makeup valve leaks, "Down Pressure" may be weak.
