Information:
To avoid striking overpasses, electrical power lines and obstructions, always lower the body before moving the machine.
Do not change the direction of the machine travel without stopping the machine. Changing machine direction without stopping the machine could cause damage to the machine.

(1) Shift control lever Make sure that the machine is stopped when you change direction between forward and reverse, or between reverse and forward. When the shift control is in the NEUTRAL position, the wheels are free to roll. For more information on the shift control lever, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls".Direction and Speed Limiting
Do not depress the accelerator pedal on a downgrade when the speed limiting is active.Use the Electronic Technician (ET) to program the speed limit. See Testing and Adjusting, UENR2260, "MT4400D AC Power Train" for additional information. The direction and/or speed is limited in the following situations:Directional Shifts
If the machine is in a forward speed and the shift control lever is moved into the R position, the machine will shift to NEUTRAL until the machine speed is below 3 km/h (2 mph). Then, the machine will shift into REVERSE.Coasting in Neutral
When the machine is allowed to coast in NEUTRAL, the ARC will use the speed setting for the ARC, or the lowest active speed limiter to activate the ARC.Anti-Rollback Function
The service brakes will be automatically applied when the machine speed passes through zero and exceeds 2 km/h (1 mph) in the opposite direction as the setting on the shift control lever. After the anti-rollback function is engaged, the anti-rollback function must be disengaged before propeling the machine. Any of the following actions will disengage the anti-rollback function:
Apply 90% of the service brake
Move the shift lever into the N positionLimiting Top Speed
The machine will not accelerate to a speed above the programmed top speed limit. The machine comes from the factory with the highest speed as the top limit. Use the Electronic Technician (ET) to change the top speed limit.Reverse Neutralizer
If the body is raised and the shift control lever is in the R position, the machine will shift into NEUTRAL. The machine will not shift into REVERSE until the body is lowered completely and until the shift control lever is moved into NEUTRAL. The hoist control must also be in the HOLD or FLOAT position. For more information on the hoist control, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls".Limiting Body Up Speed
The machine will not operate above the programmed speed limit until the body is completely down. Use the Electronic Technician (ET) to program the speed limit.Final Drive Oil Temperature
At start-up, the speed of the machine will be limited until the final drive oil reaches a specified temperature range. Reverse Speed Limit
The machine will not accelerate in reverse above 13 km/h (8 mph). Loaded Speed Limit
The loaded speed limit will activate when the payload is greater than fifty percent of the rated payload. This speed limit is programmable between 13 km/h (8 mph) and 64 km/h (40 mph). The site can enable this
