SOLENOID AS 2123350 - Caterpillar

1. Keep engine speed at low idle until oil pressure is in NORMAL (Green) range.
If oil pressure does not register in Green range within 10 seconds, stop engine, investigate and correct cause.
2. Operate engine at low idle for 5 minutes. Do not engage hydraulic controls during this period. Measure engine oil and transmission oil levels with machine level, engine at low idle and oil at normal operating temperature. 3. Measure engine oil level. Oil level should be between LOW and FULL marks on LOW IDLE side of dipstick. 4. Measure transmission oil level. Oil level should be between LOW and FULL marks on dipstick. 5. VOLTMETER should register in the GREEN range. If needle is constantly in the CHG or BATT ranges of the meter, stop engine, investigate and correct cause. 6. FUEL PRESSURE gauge should be in the GREEN range. If needle is in RED range, with engine warm and running under light load, stop engine and service the fuel filters. 7. WATER TEMPERATURE gauge should be in GREEN range. If the needle is in the RED range, reduce load, inspect cooling system for leaks, obstructions or blockage. 8. TORQUE CONVERTER TEMPERATURE gauge should be in the GREEN range. If needle is in the RED range, reduce load and measure transmission oil level. 9. NO COOLANT FLOW indicator should be OFF. When coolant flow is stopped, the indicator will come ON and a horn will sound continuously. If this occurs, stop the machine, stop the engine and inspect for leaks, collapsed hoses, and other blockages and obstructions. 10. PLUGGED FILTER indicators will come ON during operation when the respective filter becomes plugged. If the PLUGGED FILTER indicators come ON, replace or clean filters, see LUBRICATION and MAINTENANCE GUIDE for proper instructions. In cold temperatures oil becomes thick and the indicators may momentarily come ON. 11. HYDRAULIC OIL HIGH TEMPERATURE indicator will come ON when the oil temperature is above normal operating temperature. If this indicator comes ON, reduce load, observe hydraulic oil level sight gauge for proper oil level. Stop engine and inspect oil cooler core for obstructions. 12. LOW OIL BRAKE PRESSURE indicator will flash ON and OFF if the accumulator oil pressure is below normal operating pressure.13. If the indicator is flashing, increase engine speed to high idle for 3 minutes to increase accumulator pressure.
If this indicator does not go OFF, do not operate machine. Stop engine and inspect for broken hoses, loose connections and observe hydraulic tank oil level sight gauge for proper level.
14. PARKING BRAKE ON indicator will come ON and a horn will sound continuously, when parking brake is applied and transmission is engaged.
Do not operate machine with parking brake applied. Damage to parking brake will result.
15. ALTERNATOR indicator will come ON if a malfunction occurs in the charging system. Stop engine, inspect alternator belt and electrical system. 16. FULL TORQUE indicator will come ON whenever the VCTC control override switch is on. 17. PRESTART FLUID LEVEL indicators will not function
