Rework all 286-8074 Axle Housings in dealer parts stock.
****Affected Product****
This program is limited to sites that have documented Rear Axle Housing failures and are authorized to rework machines before a failure occurs. Please refer to SEBF9393 for instructions to install stiffener plates.
These stiffening plates do not add to the load carrying capability, but only work to ensure that the rear axle housing will meet durability expectations when Caterpillar load recommendations and Operating and Maintenance Manual recommendations for loading are followed.
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES

Submit one claim for all 286-8074 Axle Housings from dealer parts stock that are reworked. 40 hours of labor and a maximum of $1200 US for materials to fabricate plates will be allowed for each 286-8074 Axle Housing that is reworked.

This is a 40.0 hour job including the time required to fabricate the parts. Up to 90 hours of additional labor will be allowed if the housing modifications are not able to be completed concurently with other product updates where the final drives / traction motors are already removed.
A maximum of $1200 US will be allowed for materials to fabricate the parts.
