37. Install ring gear (51) for No. 2 clutch. Install the five disc assemblies and four plates of the No. 2 clutch starting with a disc assembly. Install springs (49) and reaction pins (50).38. Install two 1/2" -13NC forged eyebolts in top of pressure plate. Fasten a hoist and install the pressure plate (48). Make sure springs (49) and pins (50) are correctly positioned in plate. Install and tighten the two bolts to 85 5 lb.ft. (11,8 0,7 mkg).39. Install the two seal rings for the balance piston in the No. 1 carrier housing (54).CAUTION: The seal rings are flat on inside diameter and round on outside diameter. Seal rings must be installed with flat side (painted side) in the direction of bottom of grooves in carrier.40. Install balance piston (55) on carrier (54).41. Put a multi-purpose grease on the twelve bearing assemblies of the planet gears. Put two bearing assemblies in each planet gear. Push the rollers of bearing assemblies in direction of outside of gears put the six planet gears (56) in carrier with a washer on each side of each gear.42. Install the six planet shafts and retaining balls so that holes (53) in shafts are in alignment with notches (57) in carrier. Install the No. 2 sun gear (61).43. Make cold the rear bearing assembly of the No. 1 carrier. Install bearing assembly (58) in bearing cage (59) so that hole in bearing is in alignment with hole in cage. Install the dowel which keeps bearing assembly in position.44. Install the seal ring on bearing cage. Put oil on the seal ring.45. Put bearing cage on carrier so that oil holes (60) in cage are in alignment with O-ring seals (62) in carrier. Install the bolts and locks that keep bearing cage in position.46. Turn over the carrier, and install front bearing assembly (64) of No. 1 carrier. Install the retaining ring (63) for bearing assembly.47. Put oil on bearing assemblies (58) and (64). 48. Install the seal ring in No. 1 clutch piston and in carrier. Put oil on seal rings. Put seal rings in the center of their grooves. Put the No. 1 clutch piston on carrier, and softly push piston into position in carrier.CAUTION: When installing piston into carrier, use care to prevent damaging or breaking the seal rings. Never use a hammer to put piston into position. Broken seal rings may be the result.49. Install the retainers, bolts, and locks that keep the No. 1 clutch in place.50. Install two 1/2" -13NC forged eyebolts in top of carrier. Fasten a hoist and put No. 1 carrier on output shaft. Put seal rings (67) in oil manifold and seal ring in carrier bearing cage in the center of their grooves. Lower the carrier into position while putting planet gears (66) in alignment with ring gear (65).CAUTION: Use care when lowering carrier into place to prevent damaging or breaking seal rings in the bearing cage and oil
