The battery disconnect switch serves a different function than the start switch. When turned off, the disconnect switch disables the entire electrical system. When only the start switch is turned off, the battery remains connected to the electrical system.Engine Start Switch
Do not turn the switch knob to OFF (1) when the engine is running, to avoid electrical damage.
The battery disconnect switch key must be ON, to start the engine.Always start the engine with transmission in NEUTRAL (N) and the parking/emergency brake engaged. Off (1) - Turn the switch knob to OFF only when the engine is stopped. On (2) - Release the switch knob after the engine starts and the switch turns to ON. Start (3) - Push in and turn the switch knob to START to crank or start the engine. Release the switch knob after the engine starts and it returns to ON (2). If the engine does not start the first time, return the switch knob to OFF to reset the switch, before returning it to START.Neutral Start Circuit - (If Equipped)
The neutral start circuit permits the machine to start with the transmission in NEUTRAL (N) only.Gauges
Engine Oil Pressure (1) - When the pointer in the gauge is in the red area at HIGH IDLE, the engine oil pressure is too low. The green area indicates normal at HIGH IDLE. The white area indicates normal at LOW IDLE.Stop operation of the machine and stop the engine when the pointer is in the red area.Possible cause could be an oil pump failure, loss of oil, low oil or clogged engine oil filter element, etc.Replace the engine oil filter element.See the Maintenance Section of this manual for oil filter element removal instructions. Engine Coolant Temperature (2) - When the pointer in the gauge is in the red area, the coolant temperature is too high. The green area indicates normal at HIGH IDLE. The white area indicates normal at LOW IDLE.Stop operation of the machine when the pointer is over the red area.Slow the engine to 3/4 of HIGH IDLE, to reduce the excessive temperature. If the pointer remains in the red area after a few minutes of operation, stop the engine. Have the necessary repairs made before starting again.Possible cause could be a water pump failure, defective relief valve cap, hose or radiator, low coolant level, plugged radiator core, etc. Alternator (3) - When the pointer in the gauge is in the minus (-) area at 1/2 or more engine speed, the alternator is not working properly. Service Hour Meter (4) - Indicates the total operating hours of the engine. It should be used to determine service hour maintenance intervals.Light Switches
Off (1) - Turn the switch knob to the OFF position to turn off all the lights. Dash and Instrument Lights (2) - Turn the switch knob to the DASH position to turn on the lights. Work Lights (3) - Turn the switch knob to the ALL LIGHTS position to turn on all the lights.Horn
