Squeeze trigger (9) , and move propel lever (1) to the FORWARD position.
The tracks will move during the procedure. Keep all personnel away from the machine during the procedure. Severe injury or death could result if someone was caught in the moving tracks.
Rotate speed dial (4) to the MAXIMUM position.
Operate the machine for 5 minutes.
Rotate speed dial (4) to the minimum position.
Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move throttle control switch (7) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.
After the engine reaches low idle, move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.

Use Tool (A) in order to measure temperature of outboard idler (11) . Measure the temperature on the face of the idler where the guide blocks of the track meet the idler. Record this temperature.
Use Tool (A) to measure temperature of inboard idler (10) . Measure the temperature on the face of the idler where the guide blocks of the track meet the idler. Record this temperature.
Determine the temperature differential between outboard idler (11) and inboard idler (10) . If the temperature differential is less than 16.7 °C (30 °F), go to Step 58. If the temperature differential is greater than 16.7 °C (30 °F), go to Step 26.

Loosen bolt (14) , and loosen bolt (16) . Do not remove these bolts.
If temperature of outboard idler (11) was less than temperature of inboard idler (10) , the track roller frame must be adjusted inward. Go to Step 28. If the temperature of the outboard idler is greater than the temperature of the inboard idler, the track roller frame must be adjusted outward. Go to Step 43.
Loosen lock nut (13) .
Loosen adjustment bolt (12) between one half of a turn and three quarters of a turn.
Loosen lock nut (18) .Note: If necessary, remove lock nut (18) .
Hold adjustment rod (19) , and tighten lock nut (17) in order to move adjustment bar (15) inward. Note: Make rod adjustments in small increments.
Hold lock nut (17) , and tighten lock nut (18) to a torque of 237 N m (175 lb ft).
Tighten adjustment bolt (12) until the bolt contacts the adjustment bar (15) .
Hold adjustment bolt (12) , and tighten lock nut (13) to a torque of 340 N m (250 lb ft).
Alternately tighten bolt (14) and bolt (16) . Tighten bolt (14) and tighten bolt (16) to a torque of 460 N m (340 lb ft).
Move engine start switch (8) to the START position. Release the engine start switch when the engine starts.
Move throttle control switch (7) to the HIGH IDLE position twice. For each switch actuation, hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second. The engine speed should increase to 2200 rpm.
Move parking brake switch (2) to the OFF position.Note: The parking brake switch on the inactive instrument panel must also be in the OFF position.
