This illustration shows an exploded view of the components of a 7E-1598 Mixer Assembly . (1) Diaphragm (2) PlateThere are two ways to identify the diaphragm (1) that should be used to service the mixer assembly. The mixer assembly must be removed from the carburetor in order to make the identification.The color of the diaphragm (1) can be used to identify the correct diaphragm. If the color of the diaphragm is yellow, a "Type 1" diaphragm is being used. If the color of the diaphragm is blue, a "Type 3" diaphragm is being used.The plate (2) can be used to identify the correct diaphragm. Check the diameter of the hole in the center of the plate. If the diameter of the hole is 20.55 mm (0.809 inch), a "Type 1" diaphragm should be used. If the diameter of the hole is 26.51 mm (1.044 inch), a "Type 3" diaphragm should be used.If a "Type 1" diaphragm is identified, the diaphragm can be serviced with the 7W-4286 Diaphragm. The "Type 1" diaphragm can be upgraded to the "Type 3" diaphragm by installing the components of a 142-1470 Conversion Kit. The table identifies the serviceable components of the "Type 1" and the "Type 3" mixer assemblies.If a "Type 3" diaphragm is identified, the diaphragm can be serviced with the 156-7357 Diaphragm.
