Test 7: P.T.O. Clutch Pressures.
Test results expected to show if: a. P.T.O. clutch pressure is correct.b. If priority valve is functioning to prevent disengagement of P.T.O. during shifting.
Make reference to given in Test 4.
Procedure:1. At pressure tap (N), remove the plug and install a hose and a 4000 kPa (600 psi) pressure gauge.2. With the gear selector lever in NEUTRAL, start and run the engine at LOW IDLE.3. Begin moving the P.T.O. lever toward the engaged position. The pressure on the pressure gauge should begin to rise.4. When the P.T.O. lever has been moved all the way to the engaged position, the pressure on the gauge should read 1050 70 kPa (150 10 psi).5. Release the P.T.O. lever. It should stay in the engaged position.6. Move the gear selector lever to each FORWARD gear position. Remain in each gear for a few seconds before shifting to the next gear. The P.T.O. should remain in the engaged position. If the P.T.O. doesn't disengage, go to Step 8.7. If the P.T.O. disengages, shut the engine off. See Problem 3.8. Return the gear selector lever to the NEUTRAL position and stop the engine. The P.T.O. should now disengage and the P.T.O. lever should return to the disengaged position.

Problem 1: The pressure in the P.T.O. clutch is greater than 1120 kPa (163 psi) when engaged. Probable Cause:a. The setting of P.T.O. reducing valve (61) is high. Remove shims (62). See Spacer Chart.b. Spring (64) is weak or broken. Problem 2: The pressure in the P.T.O. clutch is less than 980 kPa (142 psi) when engaged. Probable Cause:a. The setting of P.T.O. reducing valve (61) is too low. Add shims (62). See Spacer Chart.b. Springs (65) are weak or broken. Problem 3: P.T.O. disengages when transmission is shifted. Probable Cause:a.
