This Program must be administered assoon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10247" as the Partnumber and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim DescriptionCode and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair isdone after failure, use "PI10247" as the Part Number, "7751" as the GroupNumber, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMSDescription Code. This Revised Service Letter replacesthe earlier May 17, 2003 (Revsied October 2003) Service Letter. Changeshave been made to the Parts Needed, Action Required and Rework Procedure.PROBLEM
A guard assembly needs to be installed on certain992G Wheel Loaders and 854G Wheel Dozers. The guard assembly mounts tothe transmission input gearbox and covers the upper drive shaft protectingservice personnel who are working in the area while the engine is running.AFFECTED PRODUCT

The new Guard Assembly mounts on the transmissioninput gearbox cover. Replace the top six bolts on the cover around theinput drive shaft with 1293172 Stud-bolts and 8M9024 Washers, as shownin the photo below. The bolts should be removed and replaced with studsone at a time to be sure the bearings in the Gear Group are not affected.
